Seek out the one who scolds you. And…………. ask him advice.

Life is full of twists and turns. What seems true isn’t and whats a fallacy comes in the guise of a gilded truth. We are in a world of chaos from which to extract the essence is more of an art than an instinct. Nothing is black & white but a myriad hues of grey. So it’s no surprise that we stray into the wrong path once in a while and sometimes lazy enough to stay on it even after knowing it. So the key is to get it right in the first place. If it not an instinct embedded into our DNA then what is it that enables us to make out the right from the wrong? – Advice.

Advice

  • not from any Tom, Dick and Harry on the road.
  • not from anyone who is to gain from you.
  • not from someone beneath you.
  • not from your enemy.
  • not from your (so called) friends who stick to you when you are at the top and desert you in your lows.
  • not from someone who is in need of advice him/herself.

But Advice

  • from your parents (unconditional love).
  • from someone with experience (Grey hairs do have an impact).
  • from your true friends who are not afraid to face your wrath by telling you how they really feel.
  • from those above you who are not intimidated by you but take pride in your work.

All this may be easy to say but hard to implement. How would we know who’s who???

Let’s differentiate people into two kinds:

  • They keep you extremely happy
  • They never hurt you
  • You feel very happy to be with them
  • They look up to you
  • They praise you
  • They go out of their way to be with you
  • They make you feel uncomfortable
  • They may chide you
  • They always point out your faults
  • They are never satisfied with what you do
  • They make you feel inadequate.

The first kind of people are the one’s you should be wary to trust!!! WHAT!!!

Yes, it’s generally those who seeks your favor (now or in the future) that tries to keep you happy ever and always. They always want to be in your good books to cash in on your favors. They may even be intimidated by you and would never want to be in your bad books!

The second kind, are the ones who’d really want you to come up in life. They are the one’s who criticize and condemn you (though may seem unreasonable). They chide you so that you may not make the mistake twice. The point out your faults, so that you can improve on them. They are never satisfied with your performance, as they have high expectations from you!

It is from these people that we should seek advice. As they are your real well wishers.
